Ady goes to London!

Last weekend I did my first ever London launch event at the delightful Polka Theatre. I joined the authors, Rich and Rox, on stage for a fun reading of the book before leading a drawing activity with the audience. I was pretty nervous! It was quite intense for a first event, being given a microphone headset thingy and being under the lights, but I do have a habit of jumping in at the deep end of things! After Rox read the book (it was fun to see my pictures up on a big screen), I led everyone in drawing their own ‘Ady’, and I was really impressed by the results! After the show there was a Q&A and a signing, and it was so lovely to meet readers and hear their stories of why the book resonates for them.

I did take some photos, but since most of them feature children and families I don’t know, I can’t post them publicly. Hopefully there’ll be some official photos soon that I can share, but at least I did bring an Ady cutout home for the studio!
